Winter Knockout (HI 10.0 - 18.0 ) Rules

Players should ensure they have read the SWG Competition Rules and Guidelines, V20
particularly section G15 Dates offered and G18g Availability for finals day .
Winter Knockout (10-18) Rules and Conditions (W= Winter)
W1. An individual scratch singles match play Competition played annually.
W2. The Competition is open to players with handicaps 10-18. on the closing date.
W3. A ’Home’ and’ Away’ match will be played in each round until the final. It is recommended that dates for ‘Home’ and ‘Away’ matches be agreed at the same time. The final will be played on a neutral course. The date of the final should be published when the first round draw is made, and this date should be kept free.
W4. In the event players cannot come to a mutually convenient arrangement, the result will be decided on the toss of a coin by the organiser immediately after the last day of the round
W5. Both matches must be played to a conclusion.
W6. Players who have a bye in the first round may play their matches anytime up to the play by date of the second round.
W7. If players win one match each, the player with the highest number of Game Points is the winner.
Game Points are awarded as follows:
Win by 6/4 = 6 points to winner
Win by 2 holes = 2 points to winner
Win beyond 18th hole = 1 point to winner
Match claimed = 10 points to claimant
Walkover = 10 points to winner
Illness/injury during match = score at time or 1 point, whichever is greater

If the game points are equal, players will continue in a sudden death play-off following completion of the second match.

Play By dates of rounds - Final on 6 April 2025, Malden GC
Round One - Play by 10th Nov
Round Two - Play by 22nd Dec
Round Three (QF) Play by 9th Feb
Semi Final - Play by 23rd March
Final - 6 April 2025 at Malden GC
