Centenary Plate 2025 Rules

<p>All players who wish to enter a SWG competition must be in possession of a current, registered WHS handicap.</p>
<p>They must have played three qualifying rounds in the previous 12 months (not including cards used to gain their Initial Handicap Index) prior to the date of the each match.</p>
<p>Actual Handicap Index on the day is used to calculate the Playing handicap for Playing order.</p>
<p>CENTENARY BOWL RULES AND CONDITIONS (CB= Centenary Bowl)</p>
<p>CB1. An Inter-Club scratch singles match play Competition played annually.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CB2. A club affiliated to SWG will enter a team of five players.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CB3. The Competition is open to players with handicap index 9.0 or over (NOTE CHANGE 2025)</p>
<p>CB4. If a player plays in the semi-final of the competition and before the final their handicap index falls below the stipulated limit, 9.0 in this instance, they can still play in the final.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CB5. A &lsquo;Home&rsquo; and &lsquo;Away&rsquo; match will be played in each round until the final.</p>
<p>CB6. All matches must be played to a conclusion except in the second leg if an overall team result has been reached.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CB7. When the match score is one-all, the highest number of games won will decide the winners.&nbsp;</p>
<p>CB8. When the game's total is tied (5-5), the highest number of game points will decide the winner.</p>
<p>Game points are awarded as follows: Win by 6/4 = 6 points to winner Win by 2 holes = 2 points to winner Win beyond 18th hole = 1 point to winner Match claimed = 10 points to claimant (see T4) Walkover = 10 points to winner Illness/injury during match = score at time or 1 point, whichever is greater (see G15)</p>
<p>CB9. If still tied, the first named players in each team must play &lsquo;sudden death&rsquo; from the 1st tee to obtain a result.</p>
<p>CB10. The Bowl and Plate finals will be played on 12th Oct at Roehampton GC.</p>
<p>CB11. Play by Dates ( after preliminary round, which finishes on 13th April)</p>
<p>R1 Play by 25th May 2025 (6 weeks)</p>
<p>R2 Play by 6th July 2025 (6 weeks)</p>
<p>R3 Play by 17th August 2025 (6 weeks)</p>
<p>R4 (Semi final) by 21st Sept 2025 ( 5 weeks)</p>
<p>Final Sunday 12th October at Roehampton GC&nbsp;</p>
