Wallis Trophy 2025 Main Draw Rules

<p>General Rules and Conditions</p>
<p>Please consult the General Rules and Conditions that apply to all SWG Inter-Club Team knock-out Competitions.</p>
<p>(Rules G1-G26 and T1-6), V23</p>
<p>Wallis Trophy Rules and Conditions (WT= Wallis Trophy)</p>
<p>WT1. An Inter-Club WHS band 20.1 - 36.0 team singles handicap match play Competition, played annually.</p>
<p>WT2. A club affiliated to the SWG may enter a team of 5 players.</p>
<p>WT3. All team members should have a current handicap index in the range 20.1-36.0 inclusive. A player with a handicap index greater than 36.0 may take part but their handicap index will be 36.0 for the purposes of the competition. Matches will be played off full difference of course handicap. Only those with current WHS handicaps will be allowed.</p>
<p>WT4. Teams must play in handicap order. If players are of equal playing handicaps, the Team Captain may place them in her preferred playing order. (Combined Competition Rules T2 in event of dispute)</p>
<p>WT5. A player who is a member of more than one club may choose which club she wishes to represent during the season but may not play in Wallis Trophy matches for any other club.</p>
<p>WT6. All teams will play &ldquo;Home&rdquo; and &ldquo;Away&rdquo; matches each round except the FINAL.</p>
<p>WT7. All matches are to be played to a conclusion except in the second leg of a knock-out stage ONCE an overall team result has been decided.</p>
<p>WT8 . For a tied match in the Wallis Trophy (5-5), the highest number of game points will decide the winner. Game points are awarded as follows for example; Win by 6/4 = 6 points to the winner Win by 2 holes = 2 points to the winner Win on or beyond 18th hole = 1 point to the winner Match Claimed = 10 points to the claimant (see T4) Walkover = 10 points to the winner Illness/injury during match = score at time or 1 point, whichever is greater (see G17)</p>
<p>WT9. If still tied, the first named player in each team must play &ldquo;sudden death&rdquo; from the 1st tee to obtain a result.</p>
<p>WT10. The final will be played at Puttenham GC on 7th Oct</p>
<p>WT11 Play by Dates ( after Preliminary)</p>
<p>R1 Play by 1st June</p>
<p>R2 Play by 13th July</p>
<p>R3 Play by 24th August</p>
<p>R4 Semi Final Play by 28th Sept</p>
<p>Final Tuesday 7th October at Puttenham Golf Club</p>
