Centenary Foursomes 2023 Rules

Players must read SLCGA Competition Rules and Guidelines.
Particular attention is draw to Rule G15c dates offered & G18g availability for finals day.

Centenary Foursomes Rules and Conditions (CF= Centenary Foursomes)

CF1. A foursomes match play Competition played annually.

CF2. Players must be members of clubs affiliated to SLCGA. Substitutions may be made ahead of the first round. No substitutions will be allowed once the first round has been played.

CF3. Matches will be played off the full difference between each team's Playing handicap. The teams Playing handicap is half the combined Course handicaps rounded to the nearest whole number. There is no maximum limit of 1 stroke per hole.

Eg Pair 1:
Annie: CH 16
Bryony: CH 21
Playing Handicap is half combined = 37/2 =18.5 rounded to 19

Opponents Pair 2:
Cynthia: CH 22
Debbie: CH 18
Playing Handicap is half Combined = 40/2 = 20

20 - 19= 1 shot

CF4. The combined handicap indices of the players must be a minimum of 20.0 or a maximum of 60 on the date entries close. If the combined handicap index total goes below 20.0 during the competition, players must use their updated handicap index when calculating differences. Should players’ combined handicap index go above 60.0 during the competition, the limit of 60.0 applies. If the combined handicap index is above 60.0 the extra is subtracted from the higher handicap player i.e. if combined is 61.5 then 1.5 is deducted from higher handicap player prior to calculating course handicaps.

CF5.
Round 1 - The players at the TOP of the draw will play their match at “Home”.
Round 2 - The players at BOTTOM of draw will play their matches at "Home"
Round 3 - The players at the TOP of the draw will play their match at “Home”.
Round 4 - The players at BOTTOM of draw will play their matches at "Home"

R1 Play by 23.04.23 ( Contact by 19/3/23)
R2 Play by 04.06.23 (Contact by 27/4/23)
R3 Play by 16.07.23 (Contact by 8/6/23)
R4 Play by 27.08.23 (Contact by 19/7/23)
Semi-finals will be held at a neutral venue, organized by SLCGA. Play by 01.10.23 ( Contact by 1/9/23)
Final will be played ON (not by)22nd Oct 2023 at Guildford Golf Club
