Lottie Woad has made a phenomenal start to her career as a professional golfer winning the ISPS Handa Women's Scottish Open at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire. Lottie finished her debut tournament as a professional on 21 under par, three shots ahead of Hyo Joo Kim of Korea on -18 in second place.
Lottie had already shown fantastic form this summer in her two final appearances as an amateur. She won the KPMG Irish Open at Carton House in early July and narrowly missed out on victory the following week at the Amundi Evian Championship in France, one of women's golf majors in which she came third. In both cases, she was unable to accept the prize money as she was still an amateur, not so in the Scottish Women's Open where she took the top prize!
Everyone at Surrey Women's Golf is exceptionally proud of Lottie, a Farnham member who came through the Surrey junior ranks and played for the County First Team. We all knew that Lottie was an exceptional talent, which has been confirmed by this fantastic victory. Congratulations Lottie!
Lottie now goes to the AIG Women's Open at Porthcawl (31st July - 3rd August). Lottie won the Smyth Salver as top amateur last year in St Andrews. Can she go one better and lift the main title this year? We very much hope so and send her the very best of luck from all in Surrey.
