Hanna Nordlund - English U14 Champion
Congratulations to Hanna Nordlund (Walton Heath) who won the English U14 Girls' Stroke Play Championship at Old Fold Manor on 31st July. After the first two days, Hanna was lying in third place on -3 behind French duo Anouchka Djumic and Jurilayci Kardasik on -4. With play cut to 9 holes on the final day due to the forecast of thunder and heavy rain, Hanna showed real grit to overcome the challenge of her two French playing partners, finishing birdie, eagle to move to -7 and win by two shots from Djumic on -5. Fantastic play, Hanna, well done!
In the U16 Championship, Annabel Peaford (Walton Heath) was the top placed Surrey player finishing in 6th place on 6 under par. The other three Surrey players to make the cut, Emily Peaford (Walton Heath), Yada Sritrakul (Sunningdale Heath) and Holly Justice (Walton Heath) all finished on +5. The winner was Serafima Taylor (Sutton) on 11 under par.
